Omni Sketch Page 2: Never Hesitate to Love Yourself

 

    `Omni Sketch Page 2 Week 2: Hello! I hope all is well, I hope life has been treating you kindly, I hope you have been eating well, taking care of yourself, washing your hair, brushing your teeth, and loving yourself. All of this is a culmination of this week's theme. Something that constantly swarms my mind is success. Recognition, growing, being my best me, getting all of these accolades not only for me but my FAMILY! These feelings overwhelmed me, so much so, that I started to believe that everything about me was wrong. My mind began to say that I needed to change who I was in order to reach this idea of my highest success. I yearned for it, way too much, to the point I was driving myself crazy. Deteriorating myself physically because I felt like I- for whatever ever reason-could not make the right decisions for myself and my career. I know in the age of seeing people's constant growth and seemingly overnight riches through social media you may feel like this too. In realizing I was putting myself through this torture I had to ask myself one thing.

What does success mean to me?

    The conclusion I came to has made my life so much more peaceful. If you are going through these same feelings as well I hope it does for you too. Success is being your best, healthiest, and happiest version of yourself. That's it. I realized I am successful if I simply have the ability to be healthy and happy. That in itself is a privilege, we often do not reflect on. Therefore, if you have this in your life: the ability to wake up, eat, love, and grow another day. Guess what? CONGRATULATIONS! You are successful, because you are doing it you took this ability to nurture yourself and are doing it which is truly beautiful. Know that I am proud of you, for all the strides you have taken to just simply be breathing and able to feel sun, to talk, to laugh. There is so much success in these simple everyday tasks and I hope you can be able to take the steps to see the beauty in these actions as well. As this slowing down and realizing will cause so much healing of the ever-restless heart...at least it has for me. :D

    With this theme being such a large part of my life right now I wanted to make some beautiful art about it. Specifically, about women as I have seen so many women in my life wear themselves out mentally, spiritually, and physically. Giving all of themselves to others or their jobs because of hyper-independence. I wanted to use this piece as a way to communicate that it's okay to stop and blossom (hence the flowers). Blossom into your best self, put yourself first, and take care of your physical body. As it is something so beautiful we need to pamper it, and love it, it's our divine responsibility. This responsibility is a blessing and allows us to see all the amazing things we are capable of by getting back in touch with our physical being. It allows for other positive feelings within ourselves to emerge through the process of self-care. Self-healing is necessary for today's society, do NOT wait for someone else to do it for you. Do it now and begin seeing every little intricate facet within yourself. You have so much to give to the world, so do not ever hesitate to give back to yourself. I love you, and I can't wait to see what you do with all the tools you ALREADY have within you. You are enough. I promise :)
