OMNI4EVERYONE Introduction
OMNI4EVERYONE was born from the mind of Macyn Monegain. After spending the majority of her life (childhood-18), painting, she grew sick of the portraits and talks of fine art. With this she found herself leaving Savannah College of Art and Design, where she was studying painting, to pursue life! The unregulated "artist sphere" of street artists, graffiti, and those who made art because of the why and not what they would get in return mesmerized her. After having this introduction to graffiti she grew fond of how you can truly make whatever you want with no rules, or regulations. Art was simply just fun again. This is where OMNI began, as a graffiti tag with one right-side-up cat and one upside-down. This originally stemmed from the word omnipresent which reflected all-knowingness that we have in terms of determining our own destiny. As a young woman of color, there are many expectations put on Macyn and OMNI was meant to reflect the idea that we are the true masters of our own destinies. Soon Macyn found herself itching to create something that she had always wanted to but never had the courage to make the leap: clothes. Clothes were a constant in Macyn's life continuously reflecting all of the different eras she found herself in. That courage came swiftly accompanied by a sewing machine and fabric from the Los Angeles fabric district that she was able to pick from a trip to see her sister she sought refuge in. Then came hand sewn bucket hats and purses and the opportunity for a fashion show. This would cause Macyn to need a brand name, something that reflected her without simply using her first or last. Different names were scribbled on a piece of paper some notably being WANDERR, RAYD8, and CYNERGY but nothing was fitting. Then she remembered the graffiti tag that she had already grown fond of months prior. OMNI was reborn, but this time with the addition of 4EVERYONE so, quite literally, everyone could be included in the narrative. This same idea of taking command and knowing your own destiny that was rooted in the graffiti tag. With this came unapologetic clothes that are playful, seductive, and vibrant. OMNI4EVERYONE is meant to allow people to embrace all the vibrance they have within them, a reminder to never dim their light.
